I. INTRODUCTION
The district leadership is requested from time to time by secular and religious
organizations to endorse or recommend certain products or services to its local
churches. This policy defines the acceptable response to those requests.
II. RESTRICTIONS
It is the policy of this district to decline all requests from suppliers or their sponsors to
endorse or recommend products or services to its local churches. Furthermore, requests
to provide a directory of local church addresses and/or telephone numbers to any
supplier of such products or services for the purpose of solicitation shall be declined as
well. If a supplier chooses to contact churches on his own initiative the district will
neither aid nor resist such contacts, leaving local churches the freedom to accept or
decline to do business with suppliers as they see fit.
III. EXCEPTIONS
The district superintendent or the various district organizations may endorse or
recommend certain products or services to the local churches, usually religious
publications, training materials or religious organizations, in the pursuit of achieving
district objectives. Otherwise, exceptions to this policy must be approved by the district
superintendent and the district advisory board.
